We let ourselves “sleep in” a little bit today, finally rolling out of bed around 8:15 so we could grab some breakfast around 9. We ate in the hotel again, the difference being that it was WAY more packed than yesterday! However, it was a) Sunday and b) later in the morning than when we ate yesterday, so more people were up and moving.
Post-breakfast, we chilled back in our hotel room for a little while in hopes to make some plans with Brandon’s friend Eli before we left for Munich today. We knew she was back in Vienna, which is why we didn’t roll out super early to head to Salzburg. She was there for her brother’s graduation and we weren’t sure if she’d stay into today or not. Anyhow, it got to be about 11 and we decided to book seat reservations on a train out of Vienna around 1, still giving some time to catch up with Eli, if possible. Unfortunately we weren’t able to meet up with her, but we will continue to hope for another opportunity in the future! We chilled at the train station for a little while until our first train to Salzburg arrived. It was a bit of a longer ride, so I got to the end of Vol. 1 of Season 4 of Stranger Things :) In Salzburg, we then changed trains to head to Munich. That train was much more packed, and there was no ability to reserve seats. Luckily, we got on “early,” so we found some spots! Arriving in Munich was a little crazy. The station is really big! Where our train pulled in, we had to walk a ways to get to the actual station building. Luckily, our hotel was only another 5 minute walk from there. It is another really nice place called the King’s Hotel First Class. Very fancy! We dropped off our things and found a cute 50’s style American diner (I know…American food in Germany? Boring!) that was very very good! We enjoyed a burger (me) and a cheesesteak (Brandon) after sharing some mozzarella sticks, which came with salsa as opposed to marinara…which sounds odd, but was actually a really delightful combo! With our check, we were given lollipops! Then, it was back to the hotel to chill; I also went through a bunch of the stuff we’ve bought and literature I’ve picked up as we may find the Deutsche Post tomorrow and ship some things back stateside. Not a lot of photos today, but enjoy them!
