Today is the day! As of this post, we are about an hour and a half from beginning our journey to Germany!
We are very fortunate that my dad was gracious enough to drive us to the airport so early in the morning. I am also incredibly grateful that my parents live within an hour of the airport and were willing to host us for a few nights leading up to our departure. Some firsts so far, having not actually gone anywhere yet: - Some fun system mixups overnight that led to us having to re-check in for our flights and then having incomplete boarding passes (it rectified itself by the time we left for the airport) - Passport check upon arrival to airport…we tried using the kiosk for the airline and it didn’t like scanning our passports, so we had to use the service desk. However, the gentleman was very nice and the process was quite speedy, even with a check of COVID cards! - Relatedly, we got stickers (green dots) on our boarding passes…don’t know why, but I like them :) - Probably the quickest security check ever. There was no one there, so we got straight through in maybe 10 minutes! -Watching the sun rise out the windows of our gate while we hang out All in all, we’re managing a pretty stellar start so far (knock on wood…some pun intended) I’ll leave you with this bathroom mirror selfie I took to send to a friend on Snapchat this morning. Have a great one, friends!

Now I know how you look like when I must find you at the station…

Hey, have a great time! I will live vicariously through you. One question -- was your flight a morning flight? I've always had red-eyes to Europe.

We had a morning flight out of Philly to Dallas, and then we left Dallas mid-afternoon to overnight it to Germany, so…kind of? I don’t know that ours would be considered a red-eye, but we were certainly tired haha
